Kari has been a ray of light shining all the way from the epic coasts of redwood forest country to the glittering coastal marshes of Georgia, to the farmland of sweet, green Alabama, to the well-preserved homes of charming New England.....So many places, so many hearts touched, so much love and life. When I think of our "Sunshine", I think of those larger than life sunflowers, with the faces open and welcoming to world all around. Over 2000 miles of geography might have prevented me from meeting her in person, yet the comfort of her words and spirit made her very real to me. God bless you, Tom....Her parents and family, too. May God hold you all in the palm of His hand.

Tom, what a great idea to create a blog to share yours and Kari's lives with others. A perfect way to celebrate her and pay tribute to the time you spent together. The photos are beautiful. Kari looks the same as I recall, just longer hair. I have family in Eureka and try to get up there every year or so - it's so lovely up there, I'm sure your surroundings must give you some measure of peace. I've always found it quite comforting and serene.

I remember what a genuinely good person you were in school and am so sorry you're going through this now. You probably don't remember, but you were very kind to me when I lost my mom. Most people were afraid to say anything at all, but not you; you offered kind words of support. I'm sure you must've been a rock for Kari.

May sweet memories of your wife carry you through until you are together again.

Take care,
